In a time of great need, Kaizer Chiefs have stepped up alongside their bitter rivals to aid the fight against Coronavirus, with Kaizer Motaung saying ‘we are forever indebted’ to healthcare workers.

In a statement on the club’s official website, Chiefs explained that they – alongside Pirates and Multichoice – have ‘forged partnerships with the SA Police Service; the SA National Defence Force and the provincial departments of Health and Sports, Recreation, Arts and Culture in Gauteng, KwaZulu-Natal and the Western Cape’ that has seen them make sizeable donations.

Their plan is to distribute ‘test kits, visors, goggles, gloves, aprons, face masks, sanitizers and biohazard bags’ to the three COVID-19 epicentres around the country as they seek to do their bit in the fight against the virus.

In the same statement, Motaung was quoted as saying, “We are forever indebted to the sacrifices of healthcare workers and law enforcement officers who are spending long hours in the trenches – those entrusted with the responsibility of going into our communities to conduct public screening and testing.
