Why are Kenyan pupils not getting adequate sleep?

Kenyan pupils, some as young as five, are getting less and inadequate sleep because they are being required to be at school by 06:30am, though classes doesn’t commence until 08:00am.

Experts are concerned that this widespread practice is turning children into ‘working machines’, workaholic and robot putting their health at risk and in jeopardy.

The government says that schools that force children to go to school that early are operating outside of the rule of law, and sterner measures and actions will be taken against them to reduce this to the barest minimum .
