These funds are designed for over 130,000 refugees from South Sudan andSudan mainly.https://x.com/SolomonSerwanjj/status/1857791328127517135The funds are particularly welcome as the Sudan civil conflict which is now in its secondyear has cost over 15,000 people their lives and has forced more than 8 million fromtheir homes. Currently, there are 46, 992 Sudanese refugees in the Kiryandongosettlement with arrivals continuing to trickle in each day. Most of those who arrived atthe settlement, similar to Ali who was assisted by UNHCR to flee through Juba, havehad to flee through other volatile areas. The list of items necessary for a clean life besides food includes soap and reusablesanitary towels, so the help does not only concern the Sudanese people but also 83,300South Sudanese refugees. Responding to the concerns of the settlement managementthe distribution of the relief items will begin from women and children since they aremost of the population of the camp.
