Sports: R50-mil added to Mamelodi Sundowns’ super squad

Mamelodi Sundowns are reported to have brought in several new signings ahead of the 2020/21 season, one of which is valued at close to R15-million.

Sundowns remain in the running for a third straight Absa Premiership title as well as the 2020 Nedbank Cup, all of which could see them claim a domestic treble.

While this could well be a hugely successful season for The Brazilians, they have continued to fall short of the big prize – the CAF Champions League.

It is perhaps with this in mind that the club has sought to strengthen their fortress with a number of new arrivals set for Chloorkop ahead of next season.

According to local reports, Pitso Mosimane will soon have the likes of Bidvest Wits trio Ricardo Goss, Haashim Domingo and Gift Motupa, coupled with Grant Margeman and Jody February – who were signed last year and then loaned out – as well as Kaizer Chiefs star George Maluleka amongst his arsenal.

The Tshwane giants have also been linked to other stars, but these six already amass a whopping total estimated value of R52-million, according to transfermarkt.com.

At present, Downs’ squad in its entirety is the most valuable in the PSL at an estimated R294-million, before adding the above-mentioned sextet.
