Suicide car bombing kills 9, injures 14 in Somalia

At least nine people had been killed and 14 others injured on Saturday in a suicide vehicle bombing in the Somalian capital, officers said.

Salad Mohamed, a senior police officer in Mogadishu advised KnowAfrika via phone, that a auto weighted down with explosives blew up at the gate of a Somali military military base in the Warta-Nabada neighborhood.

The casualties encompass Somali troopers and civilians.

The injured have been transferred to the hospital for treatment.

Police have sealed off roads main to the bomb site, eyewitnesses said.

No crew has but claimed responsibility for the suicide bombing, but in the past al-Shabaab has attacked many authorities officers and protection officers in the country.
