Moshi. Mount Kilimanjaro, which is Africa’s tallest mountain at almost 6,000 metres, is on fire.
The motive of the fire which is believed to be taking place thousands of metres above sea level is but to be established.
An eyewitness say efforts with the aid of nearby communities to extinguish the wild fires are underway but this is hampered through the altitude of the blaze.
The fire could have been seen from miles way as Moshi city which is some tens of kilometers away from the mountain.
According to the Kilimanjaro National Park (Kinapa), the hearth broke out late in the afternoon on Sunday October 11.
This used to be later established by means of the Tanzania National Parks Communications supervisor Patrick Shelutete, who stated the organization would problem a specific announcement later.
