When visiting a Home Affairs office in South Africa, it can be quite stressful to face long queues, system failures and poor service. To make the experience easier, the Department of Home Affairs developed the eHomeAffairs service where South Africans can apply for Smart IDs and passports online and complete the process at selected bank branches without the hassle of standing in long queues and waiting for your turn.
