AB De Villiers, former South African international cricketer and one of the greatest batsmen of all time, has predicted India as the winner of the WTC (World Test Championship) final on day five of the match against Australia at the Oval from 7-11 June.
The Indian national team and the Australian team will meet for the World Test Championship final on June 7 at Kennington Oval. India will make its second appearance at the summit clash of the World Test Championship.
Speaking to JioCinema, AB De Villiers lauded the Indian cricket team. He also said that it would be difficult to pick a favourite between India and Australia. However, the former South African skipper said that India could win the match. Earlier, India beat England at the Oval.
The South African legend said, “Both teams have not been playing a lot of Test cricket of late but what I can say is that India in their last Test match at the Oval, have got a win against this very strong England team. They will be taking a bit of confidence from that.”

He also praised Mohammed Siraj, an Indian cricketer who plays for the Indian cricket team as a Right-arm fast-medium bowler. De Villiers said he can do his best in Jasprit Bumrah’s absence. De Villiers further said, “I think he is the biggest asset in India’s bowling attack.”
Reportedly, the Indian cricket team has not lost a series against Australia since 2014-15. Earlier this year, India defeated Australia in a five-match Test series.
Famous Indian players like KL Rahul, Rishabh Pant, and Jasprit Bumrah will not be a part of the Indian cricket team at the Oval due to injuries. Josh Hazlewood, an Australian international cricketer, will also miss the match due to injuries.
