Recent research shows that Professor Abdessamad Faik believes Africa is at an important energy choice point as renewable-powered hydrogen allows us to grow energy usage without sticking to fossil fuels.
According to Faik the University Mohammed VI Polytechnic researcher, Africa holds more than enough renewable energy potential to meet its local power requirements while building green hydrogen industries. Africa can generate 40 megatons of hydrogen annually from renewable sources by 2050 while supplying local needs and overseas customers.
Solar energy and wind power facilitate renewable power production that gives Africa a production advantage for green hydrogen electrolysis. By using this approach people and businesses can lower their emissions better in specific sectors while establishing more energy independence. During the Russia-Ukraine conflict, Morocco experienced unstable natural gas costs which showed the dangers of depending on fossil fuels whereas Spain remained less vulnerable because of its renewable energy investments.
