“Bob Marley: One Love” Unveils Second Sneak Peek of Biopic in London

Following its initial screening in Kingston, Jamaica, actors Kingsley Ben-Adir and Lashana Lynch recently touched down in London, where they left their luggage behind on January 30 in preparation for the highly anticipated world premiere of the biopic “Bob Marley: One Love.”

Produced by Plan B Entertainment, Brad Pitt’s production company, the film features Ben-Adir portraying the reggae icon, and Lynch playing his wife, Rita. It takes viewers on a captivating journey through Marley’s music and his powerful message of love and unity.

Despite the extensive collection of over 500 books written about the late singer, who passed away at the age of 36 in 1981, the cast and crew discovered there was still much to learn about the enigmatic reggae superstar.

“When I spent time with his family, that’s when I truly began to understand who Bob Marley was as a person, beyond his public persona. Everything I learned was completely new to me,” shared Ben-Adir, who brilliantly portrays the lead role in the film.

Stepping into the shoes of a musical icon like Marley, who left an indelible mark on the world, was undoubtedly a challenge for Ben-Adir. However, his dedication and commitment to the role paid off, as he astounded audiences at the film’s premiere in Jamaica last week.

“Jamaicans are known to be discerning critics. They always have an opinion, so when they say something is good, you know it’s truly exceptional,” expressed Rohan Marley, one of Marley’s sons, reflecting on the positive reception in the singer’s home country.

The biopic was created in collaboration with Marley’s family, with his sons Ziggy and Rohan Marley present in London to represent their late father’s legacy.

“For me, this film made me reflect on the emotional journey my father experienced internally. His emotions weren’t always visible on the outside or conveyed through photos and interviews. This film truly humanizes him. We premiered it in Jamaica last week, and it was loved by Jamaicans!” shared one of his sons with great enthusiasm.

Further previews of the biopic are scheduled to take place at the Grand Rex in Paris on February 1 and in Los Angeles on February 6, ahead of the film’s official release in theaters on February 14.
