Frogfoot Networks, has announced a new prepaid fiber offering called Frogfoot RISE. They plan to roll out this service to around 40,000 to 45,000 homes over the next three to six months.

The initial phase will focus on areas in the Western Cape, such as Vrygrond and Phillipi, which currently have limited access to fiber connectivity.

Frogfoot Networks is a company in South Africa that provides internet service. They have a new service called Frogfoot RISE, which is for communities that don’t have a lot of access to fiber internet.

Frogfoot RISE aims to provide these communities with a more stable and affordable internet experience. The prepaid packages will start at R69 for seven days of access.

The service will include a 10Mbps download and 5Mbps upload line, with the option for a higher speed 50Mbps download and 25Mbps upload voucher valid for 30 days.

To make it easier for residents to access the internet, Frogfoot will install an optical network terminal (ONT) in their homes. This ONT will have built-in WiFi capabilities, eliminating the need for an additional router.

While no specific launch date has been announced for the pilot phase, interested customers can visit the Frogfoot website for more information.

If you don’t understand – Optical network terminal (ONT) and Fiber connectivity, let me make it simple for you.

An ONT is a small device that connects your home to the fiber optic network. It converts the light signals from the fiber optic cable into electrical signals that your computer and other devices can understand.

Fiber connectivity is a type of internet connection that uses fiber optic cables to deliver data. Fiber optic cables are made of glass or plastic and can transmit data much faster than traditional copper cables.

With Frogfoot RISE, customers like you, get a device called an ONT installed in their homes. This device has WiFi built into it, so you don’t need to buy another router. You can buy prepaid vouchers for different speeds and time periods.

For example, you can get a voucher for 10 Mbps download and 5 Mbps upload speeds for 7 days for R69. Frogfoot RISE has a few advantages compared to other internet services.

It’s affordable, with packages starting at R69 for 7 days. It’s fast, with speeds up to 50Mbps download and 25Mbps upload.

It’s reliable because fiber optic connections are better than copper connections. And it’s convenient because the ONT has WiFi built in, so customers don’t need to buy another router.
