Nigerian star Peter Olayinka has set new UEFA Champions League record after scoring against Inter Milan in the 1-1 scored draw at San Siro on Tuesday night.
The 23-year-old Ibadan-born making his tournament debut for Czech side, Slavia Prague by opening his account in the 63 minutes of the encounter but his goal was not enough to secure an upset away victory against the Serie A giants in Group F opener after Nicolo Barella saved Antonio Conte men’s blushes with a late-gasp equaliser.
Olayinka became the first Nigerian to score on his debut since Yakubu Aigbeni netted a hat-trick against Olympiakos for Maccabi Haifa back in September 2002 and equalled the record held by Victor Ikpeba, Daniel Amokachi and Lucky Idahor.
