Lanre Shittu was the Chairman of Lanre Shittu Motors, a vehicle assembly plant in Nigeria. He was a successful businessman with vast experience in this field. He had several years of experience in the automobile business.
He started his auto business in the early 1980s. Subsequently, he became successful because of his business skills. Lanre Shittu Motors Nigeria Ltd expanded to become one of the greatest companies in Nigeria. It started to accommodate the dealership of brands like Toyota and Peugeot. His company also had investments in the real estate and agricultural sectors. He was the number one dealer of Mack trucks in the African continent He held the sole franchise for Mack brand vehicles in Nigeria. He also had licenses to start dealings for KIA, NISSAN, and Jinbei Buses.
In 2013, he introduced a single-digit interest rate finance for its Mack Truck customers across the country. He described Mack Trucks as durable, reliable and economical to run. He asked companies to purchase Mack products.
What is the cause of Lanre Shittu’s death?
Reportedly, the Nigerian emerging business conglomerate died on Monday aged 65. His son, Taiwo Shittu, confirmed his death on Monday. His family also asked for prayers for him.
A civil suit at the Federal High Court was pending before his death. He had to give answers to the alleged money laundering charge against him. He was reportedly suffering from health illness and diabetes.
