In what has been a busy week of player contract extensions at Mamelodi Sundowns, the Siya crew can now reveal their next target!

Deon Hotto is believed to have made coach Pitso Mosimane’s wishlist and there may already have been contact between the Namibian international’s current club Bidvest Wits and Sundowns over a potential deal.

Shortly after he extended his stay at Chloorkop for a further four years last month, Mosimane – flanked by president Patrice Motsepe – spoke at length about wanting to build a team that will continue to dominate the domestic league.

Siya sources have indicated that Hotto meets the criteria of the sort of quality players Downs are looking to add to their roster next season.

What could sway the deal in the club’s favour is recent developments at Wits that one of the oldest football teams in the country could be sold in the coming weeks, although that still needs to be ratified by the PSL executive committee.

Masala Mulaudzi, the owner of TTM in the lower division, has sold his club’s status and confirmed that he has put a non-refundable deposit of R20-million towards purchasing a team in the Premiership next season.

His numbers were a lot better the campaign prior: 35 matches, six goals and 16 assists.

Given that Wits recently exercised the added option to take his contract to June 2022, his transfer fee will be sizeable.

But if anyone can pay it, its Sundowns.
