Health: Pneumonia Kills More Than 140,000 Kids In Nigeria Yearly

The Health ministry in Nigeria has said that over 140,000 kids die of pneumonia yearly in the country. Some of the reasons of these alarming figures are Illiteracy when some parent fail to take their children to the hospital for proper immunization, another reasons are lack of good healthcare system for children particularly from rural or uncivilized areas.

The figures were delivered a day prior to World Pneumonia Day, stamped universally on Nov. 12.

“Everyone can be influenced by pneumonia, however the mortality is higher when youngsters are malnourished,” said Oluseyi Omokore, an authority at Nigeria’s Health Ministry.

He said more kids younger than five agreement jungle fever yet passings because of pneumonia are as yet higher.
