The secondary school in Borno State of Nigeria has been raided again by gunmen while the students were attending their National Examinations Council (NECO) examinations. The eyewitnesses claimed that the assailants randomly shot in order to cause fear before proceeding to the school, which was occupied by students undergoing their NECO examination.
The swift assault compelled the inhabitants to run for safety as the armed bandits took away students and teachers before fleeing to bush areas.
Casualties and Kidnapped Students
According to the authorities, at least one of the teachers has been murdered in the course of the assault, while the other has been injured.
According to initial reports, at least 37 individuals, both students and teachers, have been kidnapped by the kidnappers. The local government has stated that among the missing, there were 25 females, 11 males and three teachers but the exact number is yet to be verified as rescue operations are ongoing.
