In a shocking incident, Nigerian veteran actor Kenneth Aguba has been reportedly homeless in Enugu State. Newly surfaced images of the Nollywood actor have sparked reports that he is homeless.
The actor’s image recently went viral on social media. In the picture, he was spotted living in an open shelter, outside a closed shop, with various cooking utensils which belonged to him.
Igbo Times shared the news to the public on their Twitter account. Igbo Times wrote, ” Veteran actor, Kenneth Aguba popularly known as Agụba, is reportedly homeless. The place shown in the photos is said to be where he currently lives.”
Netizens went crazy after seeing him in this state. Nigerians expressed their anger on social media and criticised the Actors Guild of Nigeria for not helping the veteran actor despite their trust fund programs. Last month, the Guild introduced a Trust fund and HMO plan to help members with the health crisis.
A social media user wrote on Twitter, “His movies used to put smiles on our faces those days… So as fans we are ready to join our hands to support him he gets a good house for himself and better life thanks.” Fans demanded quick action on this matter.
The veteran actor has starred in a number of Nollywood movies. He is best known for playing comic and ‘red cap’ chief roles in films. However, the veteran actor currently has no roof over his head.
Meanwhile, popular Nollywood Actor Yul Edochie who saw the picture of the actor said that he would help him. Edochie wrote on Twitter, “We will do crowdfunding for him. He’ll never lack anything again.”
The actor also said that Aguba should share his bank details online so that contributions could be made for him. He gave assurance to help him in the difficult times.
