Bola Tinubu, president of Nigeria, has approved a huge salary increase for the personnel serving in Nigeria’s armed forces. The new salary package will cause the Nigerian government to spend 924 billion naira in salaries as opposed to 660 billion naira in the previous salary package. This means an increment of 264 billion naira in the government’s budget.

This is according to reports from the government that 250,000 members of the army, navy, and air force will benefit from the new increment.
