FIFA ranks teams based on the total points earned in competitive matches during a given period. The Moroccan national team continued to lead Africa as the continent’s top team in the men’s football rankings, according to the latest FIFA rankings released on Thursday.

The Moroccan national team, which qualified for the 2022 World Cup semi-finals, ranked 13th in the world, behind Argentina, France, Brazil, England, Belgium, Portugal, the Netherlands, Spain, Italy, Croatia, USA and Mexico in that order.

Morocco scored 1658.49 points in the unit, 5.45 points ahead of 12th-placed Mexico.

Consequently, the most successful team is the one that has achieved the best results in recent times compared to the less successful teams.

Senegal, the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations champions, are currently ranked second in Africa and 20th in the world with 1600.82 points.

The next highest-ranked team is Algeria, which is currently 33rd in the world with 1512.9 points.

The final team in the top five is Egypt, which has 1511.95 points and is currently 35th in the world.
