The Africa Tech Festival features three main anchor events – AfricaCom, AfricaTech and the AfricaIgnite Pitch Competition. The thrilling live pitch competition on November 16 will showcase promising start-ups and scale-ups battle in front of investors and tech leaders.
Organised in partnership with Startup World Cup, powered by Pegasus, the winner – besides personalised feedback and mentoring, and PR and marketing opportunities – will be allowed to attend the Startup World Cup final in San Francisco on December 1.

Continental Digital Connectivity
Speaking at a ministerial forum on the sidelines of the festival, Philemon Mapulane, the deputy minister of communications and digital technologies of South Africa, highlighted the collaboration with Huawei, stressing the importance of international partnerships.
Underscoring recent successes, Chen Lei, president of Huawei Sub-Saharan Africa Region, asked countries to “bear in mind coverage gaps still remain in the continent,” noting the need to cover more people through various connectivity technologies such as 4G and 5G.
